"BATHS" AND "HIPPOS" AWARDED AGAIN
The latest films by Tomek Ducki ("Baths") and Piotr Dumała ("Hippos") are among the most popular festival films of the past year. Late September both films scored awards at festivals KROK and 2Annas.
22nd edition of the KROK International Animation Film Festival came to an end on September 28th. This year three Polish animations made it to the final selection – "To Thy Heart" by Ewa Borysewicz, "Hippos" by Piotr Dumała and "Baths" by Tomek Ducki. Eventually it was Ducki's film that gained the Best Short Award of the 1st competitive cathegory. This year the jury has chosen six best films from the six competitive programmes. The Krok festival is held on the deck of the ship that during 8 festival days sails from Moscow to Saint Petersburg. "Baths" is produced by Studio Miniatur Filmowych and UK based Peek and Boo.
Likewise, on September 27th finished the jubilee, 20th edition of the Riga International Film Festival 2 Annas. One Polish animated film – "Hippos" by Piotr Dumała got selected to the short film competition. On the last festival day the jury composed of - Heinz Hermanns (head of the German interfilm Berlin festival), Vladimir Leschiov (Latvian animated film director) i Tanja Hladnik (organizer of the Slovenian festival Kino Otok – Isola Cinema International Film Festival from Izola) decided to present Piotr Dumała with an award for the Best Short Film. It is the twelve foreign award for "Hippos" produced by Fumi Studio.
