Yesterday marked the close of a great celebration of documentary, animated and short cinema – the 66th Krakow Film Festival officially came to an end during a ceremonial gala in a packed Kino Kijów. It was there that filmmakers from around the world awaited the announcement of the jury verdicts, and the audience discovered the films awarded in this year’s competitions. Among them were also exceptional short films – fiction, documentary and animation – which impressed the juries with their courage, form and storytelling power. KFF Industry – the professional event accompanying the Krakow Film Festival – will once again bring together producers, directors, TV broadcasters, sales agents, festival programmers, representatives of film funds and streaming platforms from around the world in Krakow. For years, the Krakow Film Festival’s industry programme has remained one of the most important meeting places for the documentary, animated and short film communities in Poland.

Marcin Niemkiewicz’s love_proxy will be presented in the film programme of Balticon, the world’s largest sci-fi and fantasy convention, held annually in Baltimore, USA. This year’s edition will take place from 22 to 25 May and will showcase independent short science fiction and fantasy films from around the world.

Julia Pełka’s latest short documentary, "Woodeaters", has been selected for the official documentary competition of OFF – Odense International Film Festival. Produced by Paulina Skibińska of Parallax Film, the film will be presented at one of the most important short film festivals in the world.
