TWO AWARDS FOR THE FILM BY KUCIA

Last weekend, ended the fifth edition of the Greek animated film festival Be there! Two awards went to Jerzy Kucia, who showed his film "Fugue For Cello, Trumpet and Landscape" at the festival.

The animated film festival Be There! held on the island of Corfu, is one of the most important Greek festivals dedicated to the presentation of animated films. In the programme of the Corfu festival, there were both feature-length and short films. The jury gave awards in as many as nine categories. Two awards went to the representative of Poland, "Fugue For Cello, Trumpet and Landscape". The film by Jerzy Kucia won the festival's Grand Prix and the Best Music for a Short Film award. The authors of the music for "Fugue..." are Maciej Jabłoński and Michał Jacaszek. 

Jerzy Kucia returns after thirteen years of silence with a meditative story, made in a poetic film form based on the relation between image and music. The film presents the process of searching for the specificity of a landscape and releasing human emotions by recalling events which took place in the landscape depicted here. So far, the film has got over ten prestigious awards in Poland and abroad. 

The 5th edition of Be There! Corfu Animation Film Festival was held from 15 to 18 October. Apart from the award-winning film by Kucia, "Home" by Agnieszka Borowa was also shown in the festival's competition.
