“BEYOND IS THE DAY” WINS IN ITALY

Damian Kocur can celebrate another success, as his film wins another award coming from festivals in Krakow and Trieste. This time “Beyond is the Day” was awarded at the Terre da Film Festival in Canelli, Italy.

Terre da Film Festival is a new event that explores the question of human identity in the second decade of the 21st century. The festival is looking for short films from around the world that seek to answer questions about who we are, what are our relationships with others in our lives, and how we got to the point we are currently at.

In the eyes of the jury, it is “Beyond is the Day” that best answers these questions, thanks to the black-and-white cinematography, amateur actors in leading roles and the small-scale realism of the Polish countryside. Kocur's film won the main award in the international competition.

“Beyond is the Day” tells the story of Paweł, a lonely man working on a small river ferry. Day after day he goes about the same activities until he stumbles upon Mohammad, an illegal immigrant. Paweł decides to help him. Finally, there is someone to talk to.
