The short fiction "The tenants," directed by Klara Kochańska, was chosen the Best Short Film at the 31st Warsaw Film Festival. The festival ended last Sunday, October 18.

The film "The tenants" by Klara Kochańska won the Short Grand Prix at the 31st Warsaw Film Festival. The film was awarded by the jury consisting of Zuxin Hou (China), Paulina Skibińska (Poland) and Matúš Vizár (Slovakia). In the justification of the verdict we read: " From this piece we can see great directing skills leading to a strong performance. This is a well-developed film which grasps the audience's attention from beginning until end.” It is worth mentioning that Kochańska’s film is the only Polish production awarded at this edition of WFF.

"The tenants" is a diploma film by Klara Kochańska, made at the Lodz Film School. The main protagonist - a single woman - buys an apartment at a bailiff auction. When she moves to the dream home, it turns out that the keys do not fit the lock. The dream about her own place to live comes true... as a nightmare.
