"THE SHADOW FOREST" AWARDED AT THE MAFICI FESTIVAL

The film "The Shadow Forest," directed by Andrzej Cichocki, is among the award-winners of the MAFICI festival in Argentina. The film won the Best Short Fiction Film award.

The second edition of the MAFICI festival was held in the Argentinian city of Puerto Madryn from 1 to 4 October. Poland was represented at the festival by the short fiction by Andrzej Cichocki, "The Shadow Forest." The film won the jurors' appreciation and was honoured with the festival's award for the Best Short Fiction Film. The jury that awarded "The Shadow Forest" included: Bebe Kamín, Gisela Chicolino and Santiago Giralt.

"The Shadow Forest," produced by the Faculty of Radio and Television at the University of Silesia has recently been on a winning streak at the festivals. Over the past few weeks, the film won awards at the festivals in Sardinia and in Cyprus.

In one of the first scenes in "The Shadow Forest" a man, while hunting a wolf in a primordial forest, is startled by the sound of guns firing. Suddenly, in an explosion of movement there are people running, one of whom, a small boy, gets lost in the sinister forest. Even the wolves are overwhelmed by a sense of the impending danger.
