"KNIFE IN THE WIFE" WITH SPECIAL MENTION IN PORTUGAL
The short documentary "Knife in the Wife," directed by Vita Maria Drygas, won special mention at the festival FIKE in Portugal. The festival was held from 9 to 13 June.
The short film festival FIKE is organised in three Portuguese cities: Evora, Beja and Portoalegre. The jury of the festival appreciated "Knife in the Wife" by Vita Maria Drygas and awarded the film with special mention in the documentary film category.
"Knife in the Wife" is an impressionist documentary showing the life of a provincial circus called ‘Arizona’, which is grotesque on some occasions and sad on others. The showpiece of this troupe of six people is throwing knives. Their glory days are over now, their programme is not of the highest order, yet the magic of circus is still there and their young audiences watch the show with flushed cheeks.
