THREE POLISH ANIMATED FILMS NOMINATED FOR EMILE AWARDS

Joko by Izabela Plucińska, Zima by Tomek Popakul and Kasumi Ozeki, and There Are People in the Forest by Szymon Ruczyński have been nominated for the Emile Awards. These prestigious awards recognise outstanding European animated films. The winners will be announced on 16 November during the Black Nights Film Festival gala in Tallinn.

The Emile Awards are distinguished European honours awarded for excellence in animation. Organised by the European Animation Awards Association, this annual event celebrates the finest animated productions, their creators, and technicians from all over Europe. The Emile Awards aim to promote and acknowledge the diversity and creativity within the European animation industry, whilst fostering an international community of animation artists. The awards ceremony attracts attention from industry professionals and animation enthusiasts alike.

Joko by Izabela Plucińska was nominated in two categories. The production stands a chance of winning both Best Short Film and Best Character Design & Backgrounds in a Short Film. Meanwhile, Zima by Tomek Popakul and Kasumi Ozeki was recognised in the sound and music category, receiving a nomination for Best Sound and Music Design in a Short Film. The film There Are People In The Forest by Szymon Ruczyński has been included among five titles nominated for Best Student Film.
