KRZYSZTOF KUBIK WINS TWO BAFTA 2016 AWARDS

Every year, BAFTA Scotland awards the most talented young artists in the film industry. The jury of BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards selects 36 nominations from among hundreds of submissions from all over the country. Then it selects the winners in each of the 12 categories. This year, as many as two awards went to a Polish film-maker.

The director of films such as Transpotting and Slumdog Millionaire handed the prestigious BAFTA Best New Work award to the Polish film-maker Krzysztof Kubik for his film "Dipper from the Water of Leith." It was the most important award of the evening, Kubik was selected from among over twelve winners of this year's BAFTA as the Best of the Best. Specially appointed jury decided to award the young film-maker in recognition of his perfect film talent.

That evening, Krzysztof Kubik was also given the BAFTA award in the category: Camera/Photography. It is already the ninth award won by the film "Dipper from the Water of Leith."

Krzysztof graduated from the film school in Edinburgh with distinction in 2015 and immediately showed that he can do better. At the moment, he is working on a feature-length version of the film about the Dipper, as well as, together with the director and producer Karolina Mazur, finishing his début feature film "Passengers" - about the emigration of Poles to Great Britain.

The full list of award-winners is on the festival's website.
