„CHARCOAL BURNERS” SUCCEEDED IN BERLIN AND LONDON!
Last fortnight the achievements of Piotr Złotorowicz’s “Charcoal Burners” have grown thanks to another two prizes. So far there are 13 awards at this short documentary’s account!
In the beginning of June Piotr Złotorowicz received the Honorable Mention at the EMERGEANDSEE media arts festival in Berlin, what is more, he won the award for the Best Documentary Film at one day’s Wimbledon Shorts Film Festival which was held at 18th June. The Wimbledon’s jury statement is following: “Great cinematography and editing. Touching, tender and sad. Interesting subject matter and fascinating subjects”.
“Charcoal Burners” is a story about Marek and Janina who work every summer in the Bieszczady mountains making charcoal. Far from civilization, they live in the midst of the mountains following the rhythm dictated by nature.
Piotr Złotorowicz graduated from the Electrical Engineering Faculty at Szczecin University of Technology and since 2006 he has studied film directing at Polish National Film School in Łódź. "Charcoal Burners" is his documentary debut.
