POLISH UKRAINIAN PRODUCTION IN CANNES COMPETITION
The world's most famous film event gradually releases information. Even after the official program announcement, new titles continue to emerge that will be showcased in Cannes. One such film has been made by Anastasia Solonevych and Damian Kocur. The production has been invited to the short film competition and stands a chance at winning the Palme d'Or.
The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most important and prestigious film events worldwide. Each year, the selection committee receives a record number of submissions for various sections. Thousands of talented creators dream of showcasing their films on the Côte d'Azur. This year's festival edition will take place from 16th to 27th May.
This year, Damian Kocur's latest film, made in collaboration with Anastasia Solonoevych, has been invited to the short film competition. As it Was tells the story of Lera, a Ukrainian woman who moves to Berlin just after the war begins. Unfortunately, she struggles to adapt to her new surroundings and – acting on impulse – decides to return to Kyiv.
