ANOTHER EDITION OF VISEGRAD ANIMATION FORUM
Tomorrow, on Wednesday, May 6, starts this year's edition of Visegrad Animation Forum - animation forum organised by Association of Czech Animation Film (ASAF). As every year, the programme abounds in many interesting events.
Visegrad Animation Forum is a meeting point for producers, representatives of television channels and film distributors. Every year, professionals representing film industry from the four countries of the Visegrád Group come to Trebon: from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, and the programme does not lack lectures, meetings and case study presentations.
This year, the central point of the event are traditional pitchings of short films and animated series, during which the most interesting animated projects, made in two aforementioned formats, will be presented.
Two Polish projects qualified for pitching sessions. Polish producers will present two projects in the TV series pitching: "Bubblebit and Miau" (prod. Grupa Smacznego) and "Florentine's Diary" (Anima-pol). Projects which will gain the acceptance of the jury - the winner and the special mention laureate - will have a chance to participate in the September edition of Cartoon Forum in Toulouse and will win the consulting package from the Czech television.
It is worth adding that another two Polish projects will be presented as a part of the pre-buys pitchings - “Casparade” (prod. Human Ark) and “Basia” (prod. Grupa Smacznego). The representatives of five Polish animated studios will attend the forum.
This year, there is a novelty in the programme of the forum: Visegrad Animation Rallye - the overview of the best films produced in the four partner countries last year. It is an interesting option, particularly because the programme will be shown in the following months also at other partner festivals.
Polish partner of the event is the Polish Animation Producers Association (SPPA), and its local co-ordinator is Studio Miniatur Filmowych from Warsaw.
This year's edition of the forum lasts until May 8.
