"DUST" AWARDED AT FEBIOFEST

On Wednesday, March 21, the official award ceremony of FebioFest Festival took place in Slovakia. "Dust" by Jakub Radej was among the winning films.

FebioFest is a festival which during a month visits several Slovak cities, including Poprad and Banská Bystrica. The awards were handed out in Bratislava and one of them went to the Polish filmmaker.

The jury of the main competition gave the award for best short documentary to the film "Dust" by Jakub Radej.

Dust is a study of the way that every human body has to go from the moment of death to the funeral. In Jakub Radej’s film, the consecutive stages of the way (dissecting room, morgue, cemetery) are juxtaposed with a bureaucratic approach to the property of the deceased. A detached account of the fate of the material objects that belonged to the deceased creates a space to pose a question about the meaning of life and reflect on the loneliness of people who have no one to bid them farewell.
