"ADAPTATION" WINS IN BRATISLAVA
On November 16, the award ceremony at Bratislava International Film Festival was held. The Best Short Film Award went to "Adaptation" by Bartosz Kruhlik.
The first edition of Bratislava International Film Festival was held in 1999. The festival presents début films and the second films by young, promising directors. In addition to the full-length feature film competition, in Bratislava there is also a documentary film competition and a short film competition. This year, the Best Short Film Award went to "Adaptation" by Bartosz Kruhlik.
"Adaptation" is a film about a family grieving after the death of their son and brother, Marcin. However, instead of trying to reconcile, the close ones of the deceased frantically scratch fresh wounds. The atmosphere at home thickens with every spoken word, because neither the brother nor the parents were prepared for the passing away of the young man. Mutual relationships also get complicated, and the attempts at starting a conversation do not lead to an agreement. To make things worse, the question of who is guilty of his death keeps on recurring more and more clearly.
