POLISH SHORT FILMS AWARDED AT ETIUDA & ANIMA
"Education" by Emi Buchwald won the Golden Dinosaur award during the 23rd International Film Festival Etiuda & Anima. The following Polish films were also awarded: "Tenants" by Klara Kochańska–Bajon, "Lockjaw" by Kordian Kądziela, "Foreign Body" by Marta Magnuska and "Impossible Figures and Other Stories II" by Marta Pajek.
In the competition ETIUDA, 40 student films from 16 countries participated, selected from among 1500 submissions. The jury (Maciej J. Drygas – the president, Ryszard Jaźwiński, Yoav Kosh, Martin Štoll, Fernanda Valadez) honoured the film "Education" by Emi Buchwald with the Golden Dinosaur and a cash prize, amounting to 15 000 PLN, for "a wise documentary film narrated with the original film language."
The ETIUDY jury awards also the Special Golden Dinosaur award for the film school which submitted the best collection of films to the festival. This year, the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Lodz was honoured for the quality of presented films. The Jury decided to give honorary diplomas to three films, including one Polish film: the feature film "Tenants," directed by Klara Kochańska-Bajon (the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Lodz).
The best cinematography award for students from the countries of the Visegrad Group (that is, from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) in the form of a contribution in kind amounting to 5 000 PLN - founded by the company Heliograf - went to "Lockjaw," directed by Kordian Kądziela, produced by Krzysztof Kieślowski Radio and Television Faculty at the University of Silesia. "Lockjaw" also won the audience award.
At the 23th International Film Festival Etiuda & Anima, Polish animated films were also awarded: "Foreign Body" by Marta Magnuska and "Impossible Figures and Other Stories II" by Marta Pajek and "Locus" by Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi.
