“BARBICAN” RETURNS FROM IRAN WITH AN AWARD
The screening at 28th Tehran Short Film Festival brought success to Bartek Żmuda and his “Barbican” that was awarded Best Fiction prize ex aequo with the Iranian “Bitter milk” by Nasser Zamiri. This is the first award for the film at the international festival.
Tehran Short Film Festival organized by Iranian Youth Cinema Society is next to Fajr International Film Festival the oldest festival screening short film in Iran. This year, following the previous editions there were documentary, fiction, animated and experimental films screened. Polish “Barbican” directed by Bartek Żmuda proved to be the best in its cathegory.
“Barbican” produced at Polish National Film School in Łódź is Bartek Żmuda’s graduation film. The story is based on a real life events. After a long period of work in Germany – Emil B., a young man, comes back to his girlfriend living in Poland so that they can enjoy their life together. His long journey home brings a number of sad and unexpected incidents.
28th edition of the festival was held between 10th and 16th October.
