WORLD FILM FEST HOUSTON – THE AWARDS GIVEN
World Fest-Houston Independent International Film Festival took place from 9-18 April. Two Polish documentaries and one feature film were honoured with awards during the closing ceremony of the American film event.
The Platinum Remi Award went to Małgorzata Bieńkowska-Buehlmann for the film “Exit”. This documentary presents the story of German refugees who, after 1989, came to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Warsaw and for the first time publicly talked about their lives on the eastern side of the Berlin Wall.
Even more, Jacek Petrycki got the Bronze Remi Award for “A City without God”, a tale about NowaHuta, “a city without God”, paradoxically the place of the greatest struggle for the faith and for building churches.
The Special Jury Award went to Ryszard Bugajski for “General Nil”.
