GOLDEN UNICORN OF ALPINALE FILM FESTIVAL FOR "UNDER_CONSTRUCTION"
The animated film "under_construction" by Marcin Wojciechowski won the Golden Unicorn award at the Alpinale Short Film Festival in Austria. The closing ceremony and the awards ceremony was held on August 15.
The Alpinale festival, organised in the Austrian town of Nenzing, was held for the thirtieth time this year. The anniversary edition of the festival turned out to be lucky for Marcin Wojciechowski. His animation "under_construction," was appreciated by the jury, consisting of: Liv Settergren (Denmark), Stéphane Bubel (France), Olivier Furnout (France), Wolfgang Ruper Muhr (Austria) and Veronika Schubert (Austria) and awarded with the Golden Unicorn statuette. Jury’s attention was captivated by the interesting diary form of the film and by to its unique way of showing the complexity of human personality.
"under_construction" is a personal journal in which its author continues to create himself. Moving from point to point, he patiently sets direction every day. Reality’s relative order is born among a multitude of dates and hours that, just like dots in a colouring book, reveal their true shape only after connecting. Everyday life is a laborious process of constant ‘becoming’.
