"WRITTEN IN INK" AWARDED IN ENGLAND
The documentary favourite of the last months, "Written in ink" by Martin Rath does not slow down even for a moment. Last weekend, the film won its sixth award!
Taking place every year, Cornwall Film Festival presents the best full- and short-length films made in Europe and around the world. Apart from international competitions, the festival organisers devote a lot of attention to presenting Cornish films, whose presence is a permanent fixture of the festival, for which Mike Leigh has provided his patronage for several years.In this year's short films competition "Films without borders" there were two Polish films, both produced by the Polish National Film School in Łódź - "The Connection" by Maciej Twardowski and the aforementioned "Written in ink" by Martin Rath. 27 films competed for the title of the Best Film. On Sunday evening, the jury announced Rath's victory.
"Written in ink" is the first-year's production by Martin Rath. The film's protagonist is a homeless man, who tries to rebuild his broken relationship with his sister after 14 years. The documentary touches upon the issue of the irreversibility of time, portraying the consequences of wrong decisions.
In November the film will be shown at twelve international festivals, including eight in the USA. 11-minute-long etude has already taken part in over 80 international film festivals.
