„WITHOUT SNOW” WINS THE FESTIVAL IN BILBAO!
Last Friday, the graduate film of Magnus von Horn “Without snow” received the Grand Prix at 53rd International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao.
Festival in Bilbao is one of the oldest festivals devoted to short and documentary films organized in Spain. This year during its 53rd edition it screened the selection of the best short films, most of them screened for the first time in Spain that were selected from over 3000 entries. The competition was composed of 73 films representing 33 countries. From Polish entries sent to Bilbao the selection committee chose 3 titles that made their way straight to the top selection – apart from award winning “Without snow” – also “Written in ink” by Martin Rath and “Two steps behind..” by Paulina Majda.
The closing ceremony was held on Friday, 18th November in Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao. Magnus von Horn collected the award for his “Without snow” in person. This is the first award that film – screened for the first time in Spain – receives at the Spanish festival.
“Without snow” set in the landscape of Swedish countryside is a story of 16 year- old boy who has just fallen in love with his best friend's girlfriend. Never could he imagine that it would bring such aching consequences. Film was produced by Polish National Film School in Łódź and Lava Films.
