POLISH ANIMATED FILMS IN LONDON

This Friday starts the new edition of the London International Animation Festival. As many as six Polish animated films are qualified for this year's programme, a half of which for the main competition.

The festival is organised since 2003, and it was created to give the lie to the popular belief that animated films are only for children. The organisers of the London International Animation Festival had made it their goal to promote contemporary animated films from all over the world, which are intelligent and witty. In the programme of the festival, there is no shortage of retrospectives of recognised film-makers, as well as reviews of animated films from a selected lesser-known country. From year to year, the ten-day festival started to grow into an important event, offering interesting accompanying events, meetings with film-makers, tours as well as discussion panels.

The festival audience will have the opportunity to watch six Polish animated films. The following films are included in the competition section: "III" by Marta Pajek, "Tango of Longing" by Marta Szymańska and "Bless You!" by Paulina Ziółkowska. In the non-competing section, the films "Vanilla/Whip" by Bogna Kowalczyk, "Squaring the Circle" by Karolina Specht and "The Other" by Marta Magnuska will be shown.

The winners of this year's edition of the festival will be announced on the 9th of September at the festive gala.
