As many as five Polish animated films are included in the competitions at this year's festival Animafest Zagreb.

The World Festival of Animated Film Animafest Zagreb was held for the first time in 1972, it is the second oldest film festival after Annecy, which is dedicated entirely to animated films, and it is one of the most important animated film festivals in the world.

This year, over 1600 films from 76 countries were submitted, and 44 animated films, including three Polish ones, qualified for the main competition. The jury will evaluate "Black" by Tomasz Popakul, "Impossible Figures and Other Stories II" by Marta Pajek and "Xoxo - Hugs and Kisses" by Wiola Sowa.

"Xoxo - Hugs and Kisses" by Wiola Sowa is a beautiful tale about intimacy, fascination and bodily expression, as well as about emotions and setting emotional boundaries. "Impossible Figures and Other Stories II" by Marta Pajek is the image of the world full of paradoxes and illusions, based on the concept of the impossible object. Whereas "Black" is a story about loneliness and helplessness in which an unexpected hope sprouted.

In the student film competition, there are 46 films, including two Polish animated films: "Pussy" by Renata GÄ…siorowska and "Foreign Body" by Marta Magnuska.
