JAKUB KOTYŃSKI AWARDED IN SWEDEN

On October 2, ended the Swedish festival Västerås Filmfestival. The best actor award went to Jakub Kotyński for his film "Mother."

Västerås Filmfestival is a young festival, because it was only the second edition which was held this year. For five days, in Sweden you could see documentary and feature films from around the world, which competed against each other in the competitions. Jakub Kotyński, who played Czesław Pełka in the film "Mother" by Piotr P. Gołębiowski, was chosen the best actor of the festival.

The film "Mother" is a film inspired by true events which took place at the turn of 1943 and 1944 in the town of Legionowo, near Warsaw.

German officers Spiller (Marek Włodarczyk), Rode (Łukasz Matecki) and Klingemann (Jarosław Domin) decide to seize for their headquarters a house inhabited by a four-person Polish family, the Pelkas: Otylia (Dorota Kuduk), Czesław (Jakub Kotyński) and two little girls Terenia (Zuzanna Nowocień) and Jania (Martyna Fabijańska). Since then, the life of the entire family is at stake.
