"INVISIBLE" HAS A CHANCE TO WIN AN ACADEMY AWARD
Soon, the Academy Award short-lists will be announced, and then, the nominations for the Academy Awards. This year, as many as five Polish short films have a chance to win the statuette, among them, "Invisible" by Zofia Pręgowska.
"Invisible" won the award qualifying to apply for an Academy Award nomination in 2015. In the second half of October, it won the Jury Award in the Short Documentary Film category at the New Orleans Film Festival in USA.
The protagonist of the film "Invisible" is a blind poet Ms Krystyna. The film is set in a tiny flat in Warsaw, which Ms. Krystyna cannot leave on her own because of her health. Forced to rely on others, she incessantly comments the surrounding world by writing poetry.
Currently, the members of the Academy are voting for the films which will be included on the short-list. In the nearest future, we will find out whether any of the Polish films is a step closer to the Academy Award.
