POLISH TITLE: ODBICIE

A chilly August morning on the road to Vienna. Waleria is taking her teenage daughter, Martyna, to spend some of the summer holidays with her father. Martyna’s extreme antipathy towards the visit is a tangible presence. The trip is marked by a series of dramatic
events which complicate the relationship between mother and daughter and lead to the revelation of a deeply buried secret. The true reason for their journey comes to light.

Emilia Zielonka grew up in Podlachia. Fascinated by Asian Cinema, especialy Taiwanese New Wave. Her high school exit exam was on Kieślowski’s films. Graduated in Psychology from CSWU and Faculty of Directing at Gdynia Film School. Her graduation film „Tenderness” has been screened and awarded at many international festivals. Winner of Excellence Award for Best Picture at Busan ISFF. „Reflection” is her first short after film school.
