BRICK IN THE WALL
What does it mean for a family to live trying to build their house for 35 years - in vain? Father, a local acclaimed Romanian builder, lost his pride in this endeavor, while his 30-year-old son is trying to bring it back. The film emphasizes the mother's struggle to lead a normal life in the shadow of an uncompleted dream, while her husband hesitates finishing the building. Why does it need to take a lifetime to build a home? The contemporary, modernizing Romania appears as a land of destroyed, unfulfilled constructions - of both home and family relations.
