COMPETITION FOR THE CIVIS MEDIA PRIZE 2026 OPENED
Submissions are now open for the CIVIS Media Prize 2026 – one of Europe’s most significant competitions honouring media productions that address migration, integration, cultural diversity and social cohesion.
The competition is open to creators from all EU member states and Switzerland, and accepts entries in the categories of audiovisual, radio, online and social media formats.
The submission deadline is 31 December 2025. Applications must be submitted electronically via the form available on the organiser’s website here.
The CIVIS Media Prize recognises outstanding achievements in film, reportage and journalism that explore the coexistence of people of different geographic and cultural backgrounds in a responsible and creative manner. The competition promotes works that strengthen social dialogue and contribute to a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by Europe’s diverse societies. In 2026, nine awards will be granted across various categories, with a total prize fund of EUR 27,000.
The competition, jury sessions and award ceremony are organised by the non-profit CIVIS Media Foundation, based in Cologne. The initiative aims to encourage media professionals to address issues related to migration, integration and social diversity in a creative, constructive and – when necessary – critical way.
Current information on categories, participation rules and the registration form is available on the CIVIS Media Prize 2026 website.
