POLISH PROJECT AT EURO CONNECTION
Nawojka Wierzbowska's project "I Am Not Here Anymore" qualified for the Euro Connection program. It's a short film co-production forum that will be held at the Clermont-Ferrand ISFF. The forum is dedicated to producers of short fiction film, creative documentaries, and animated films.
The next edition of Euro Connection will be held during the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. As every year, a session preparing for the presentation is going to precede the event, with meetings and consultations taking place after the pitching. A total of 14 projects will be presented during the next year's edition, selected by the jurors from among all those submitted by individual partner countries. One of these projects is the short animated film I Am Not Here Anymore by Nawojka Wierzbowska, produced by the Kraków Film Cluster.
Dead Grandpa is waiting for Death to come. When it does not come, he decides to go to the afterlife on his own. Unfortunately – his Family doesn't believe he's dead, and every time the old man manages to get away, they bring him back. Grandpa tries to prove to the Family that he's dead. Despite solid proof, the Family does not believe him and chains him to prevent further escapes. The situation in the house is getting weirder, but everyone is trying to function like nothing happened. When Grandpa loses hope completely, Death shows up late at the house and helps his loved ones understand that they must let the old man go.
Participating in Euro Connection creates an excellent opportunity for dynamic producers interested in international co-production, seeking partners to co-create their short projects. The program is becoming more and more popular with every passing year, and Polish producers participate in it regularly. Attending the forum is an opportunity to meet more than 150 foreign producers, representatives of TV stations, and institutions financing short films.
Since 2008, the Krakow Film Foundation is the program's coordinator in Poland.
