“I'M HERE” RECEIVES ANOTHER SPECIAL MENTION
This time, Julia Orlik's animated film won a special mention at the German Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film.
Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film is one of the largest and most important festivals devoted entirely to animated films. The event's program isn't limited only to film screenings, but also includes spaces for art, games, design, architecture, special effects, interfaces, and music. This year's edition of the festival was held entirely online.
The awarded film “I'm Here” tells the story of an elderly man who is looking after his paralysed wife. Despite his old age and own health issues, he tries his best to alleviate her suffering, which is getting more severe every day. He is aided by his daughter, who tries to reconcile the care given to her mother with her own work at the hospital and her personal life. Each of them has different views on how the woman should be looked after, which leads to many arguments.
