POLISH SHORT FILMS AWARDED AT THE WARSAW FILM FESTIVAL

The documentary "What if nothing?" by Monika Krupa and the feature film "Into The Night" by Kamila Tarabura were appreciated by the international jury of the 36th edition of the Warsaw Film Festival.

Warsaw Film Festival was established in 1985, and in 2009 it entered the elite group of events accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (www.fiapf.org) as international competition film festivals - next to festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Locarno , San Sebastian, Karlovy Vary, Tokyo, Moscow, Mar del Plata, Montreal, Shanghai, Cairo, Goa and Tallinn. During the festival, films compete against each other in five different competitions: the International Competition, the 1-2 Competition, the Free Spirit Competition, as well as Documentary and Short Films.

It was a unique edition for Polish short films. Two out of five awards went to our creators. They were judged by the Jury: Alexei Medvedev (Russia), Ygor Gama (Brazil / Germany) and James Scott (Canada).

The protagonist of the awarded documentary is a Polish archaeologist, Professor Andrzej Niwiński, who has been looking for the tomb of Pharaoh Amenhotep I in Egypt for over 30 years. Despite doubts on the part of his colleagues, he continues to pursue the set goal. The last mission and the last place where the tomb can be found are ahead of him. Will he finally find the missing Pharaoh?

In turn, the fictional film "Into The Night" by Kamila Tarabura is a story about teenage Krysia. The girl leaves the house for the first time in weeks. He runs into Majka at the party. The girls sneak out of it and set off on a journey that is gaining momentum.
