"III" AWARDED IN BRUSSELS

Marta Pajek's animation received the press award for best short film at ANIMA - the Brussels Animation Film Festival.

ANIMA Animated Film Festival is one of Europe's most important events devoted to animation. Its programme includes competition sections, retrospectives, exhibitions and educational classes for kids. Another part of the festival is FUTURANIMA - an event dedicated to film industry professionals.

Quite a few Polish productions were invited to the programme this year. The opening film was "Another Day of Life" - a feature film directed by Damian Nenow and Raul de la Fuente. Four Polish short animations compete for awards in the student competition: "You Are Overreacting" by Karina Paciorkowska, "Squaring the Circle" by Karolina Specht, "Tango of Longing" by Marta Szymańska and "Bless You!" by Paulina Ziółkowska.

"III" by Marta Pajek, which was awarded by the press, is a story about middle aged woman and man who meet in a waiting room. Slowly, they get closer. He helps her take off her heavy, black fur coat that covers her naked body. That's how the game between them begins: they keep seducing and exposing each other. Their hands reach inside their bodies where organs resemble floral structures.
