AWARD IN BUSAN FOR "BETWEEN US"

A huge success of the graduation film by this year's graduate of Gdynia Film School, Maciej Miller - his documentary film "Between Us" won the Jury Prize at the 34th Busan International Short Film Festival in South Korea.

The jury, under the chairmanship of Mark Rappaport, justified their choice in the following way: "It is a documentary film breaking barriers in its approach to a couple in times of crisis. The issues concerned with life and death are shown in the foreground, and the emotional honesty in dealing with them is very poignant."

The film "Between Us" is a story about a couple of twenty-year-olds who expect a child. They do not know how to come to terms with it. Under the influence of tensions and emotions, they decide to split up, and give the child up for adoption. It is not easy for them. There are two months left before the birth of the child. Crucial conversations and experiences, which will change their entire lives, take place.

4447 films from 126 countries were submitted to this year's festival in Busan to the international competition, out of which the selectors chose 37 films from 29 countries! Among them was the film by Maciej Miller. This is not the first success of Gdynia Film School at this festival, important for the film industry. Last year, the graduation film "Tenderness" by the graduate Emilia Zielonka won the main prize, the Excellence Award for Best Picture.
