POLISH ANIMATED FILMS IN ARGENTINA

Two screenings of recent Polish animated films were included in the programme of this year's edition of the Argentinean CARTÓN International Animation Film Festival. The fifth edition of the festival is held between 1st and 7th September.

The organizers of the CARTÓN festival have invited the Krakow Film Foundation to act as a Polish partner of the special Polish screening. As a result the audience of the festival will watch six latest animated shorts from the catalogue of the Foundation – among them "Danse macabre" by Małgorzata Rżanek, "Ars Moriendi" by Miłosz Margański or "Ab ovo" by Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi. The program coordinated by the Krakow Film Foundation features the most popular and frequently shorts made by young and talented directors. The screening is a part of the Polish Animation project that devoted to promoting Polish animated films abroad.

The Polish presence at Argentinean festival will be marked also by the screening organized in frames of the O!PLA Across Borders #3 project – the screening series of the films awarded at the third edition of the O!PLA Festival. The audience of CARTÓN festival will be served a one hour long set of the recent Polish shorts including such films as "Hippos" by Piotr Dumała, "But she's nice.." by Tomasz Pilarski or "Rivers" by Daria Wiktoria Kopiec. The screening is organised by Animation Across Borders.

Apart from the two screenings presenting animated films made in Poland the programme of the 5th edition of the festival includes also the films made in Mexico, Brazil and countries of the Andean Community.
