„KICHOT” AT KARLOVE VARY!

„Kichot” directed by Jagoda Szelc was accepted to the documentary competition of the 47th Karolovy Vary International Film Festival.

Apart from the short etude “Kichot” by Jagoda Szelc who is a student of the third year of Film Directing at the Polish National Film School in Łódź there will be another Polish  film screened in the very same section of the festival – a feature “Polish Illusions” by Jacob Dammas and Helge Renner – a coproduction between Poland, Germany, Denmark and France. So far the jury of the Czech festival proved generous for the Polish documentarists. Last year in Karlove Vary Marcin Koszałka won the Best Documentary Award for his “Declaration of immortality”.

47th edition of the Karlovy Vary IFF will be held between 29th June and 7th July. The festival’s programme features nine Polish films from which there are seven screened in the competitive sections. In the main competition the audience will have a chance of watching “To kill a Beaver” - the latest feature by Jan Jakub Kolski and Polish-Czech coproduction “Polski film” directed by Marek Najbrt – that received the Award of the Polish Film Institute at the third edition of OffPlus Camera FF in Krakow. There will be another two Polish features competing in the East of the West section – “Shameless” by Filip Marczewski and “Yuma” by Piotr Mularuk.
