THE PREMIERE X 3

POLISH TITLE: PRAWYKONANIE X 3

„The Premiere x 3” („Prawykonanie x 3”, 2015) – a short documentary film, commissioned by the Institute of Music and Dance in Warsaw (IMiT), written and directed by Maja Baczyńska, and devoted to three young composers: Wojciech Błażejczyk, Tomasz Opałka and Ignacy Zalewski and their participation in the ‘’Composer-in-Residence’’ programme run by IMiT.

The films were shot in the 2013/14 artistic season in association with institutions hosting IMiT's residencies for emerging artists: the Centre for Art Eduction – Gorzów Philharmonic, the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra and the Jan Szyrocki Academic Choir of the West Pomeranian University of Technology. 

Viewers will watch large fragments of the premiere performances of new works written by the young composers on commission within the „Composer-in-residence” programme.

Maja Baczyńska »

She is a graduate of The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (currently on PhD study). She also graduated from Academy of Movie and Television in Warsaw and Laboratory of Report at University of Warsaw. Maja is a participant of the documentary program DOK PRO 2013/2014 at Wajda School. She is a member of Association of Polish Filmmakers, The Union of Audiovisual Authors and Producers ZAPA, Association of Polish Artist Musicians and the editor-in-chief of a magazine “Presto - Film”. Since 2009 she made some short films and she is a coordinator of the production “Portraits of composers” (e.g. "A few questions about hearing of the world" - the first full-feature documentary about young Polish composers of contemporary and film music). In 2013 she established a film group MUDO Music Documentaries (e.g. "The Premiere x 3" awarded on the Film Festival "Nurt" in Kielce and realised with the Institute Music and Dance). MUDO's films are screened in Poland and abroad and on TV.
