The short film “Happy Birthday”, directed by Aleksander Pakulski, received the DIFF International Short Special Mention Award at the Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF), where it had its world premiere.

Polish titles are shaping up to make a serious mark at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival (5–15 March) – one of Europe’s foremost documentary festivals as well as an Academy Award-qualifying event. Two films have been selected for the main competition: "Candidates of Death" by Maciej Cuske, which will enjoy its world premiere in Thessaloniki, and "Closure" by Michał Marczak. Meanwhile, "The Queen and the Smokehouse" by Iga Lis, "Hidden" by Monika Kotecka and two co-productions - "Traces" and "The Ground Beneath Our Feet" will screen in the Open Horizon section.

Betina Bożek’s latest animated film, “Love Me Tender,” has been selected for the official programme of the Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival 2026. The film will be the only Polish animation screening at the festival and will compete in the Animation Shorts section. Its screening in the United States will mark the film’s American premiere.

A Polish animated film has been honored at the 48th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival – the world’s largest short film festival and the second biggest film event in France after Cannes.
